PAGE FOUR Panel 1 Natasha: “Skye—“ Skye: “No, it’s cool. I’m still confused about how Jun died. That guy, he said she was being ‘edited.’ What does that even mean? And with what you said, about how you feel like some outside force changes who you are when I’m here—is there something above us, against us?” Panel 2: Natasha: “Skye, that bad guy was crazy.” Skye: “But you’re not.” Natasha: “No, I’m not.” Panel 3: They say nothing for a second. Skye’s opened six ice cream containers. Panel 4: Natasha: “That’s not all for you, is it?” Skye (smiles): “Why not?” Natasha: “Boy, that’s bad for you!” Skye: “Think about it this way, Thunder. Which is worse: getting one big stab wound, or six smaller stab wounds over time, in the same place, that never get to heal?” Natasha: “You sayin’ you’d rather have the whole thing at once.” Skye: “Yup. I’m gonna eat all this ice cream anyway, so might as well get it over with.”

(An informal webcomic in the world of BECOMING HERO, the novel about a comic book character who shoots his author, and the comic book reader who may have to stop him. Great meta superhero fiction for fans of Deadpool, Animal Man, Last Action Hero, Stranger than Fiction, Superboy-Prime, She-Hulk, Cerebrus the Aardvark, AmbushBug, and other author-meeting fourth-wall-breaking “rage against the author” tropists.)
